something of a renaissance as more and more people experience the virtues of natural and traditional medicine.
In the spirit of providing health and promoting traditional medicine, the festival is held in Seoul each year
in the vicinity of the Gyeongdong Yangnyeong Market, the largest oriental herb market in all of Korea.
In addition to being an educational experience where you can learn about the fascinating history and practice
of oriental medicine, it is also an opportunity to interact with locals and take stunning photographs of the

The CheongGyeCheon Festival in Seoul celebrates the re-birth of a stream that once flowed happily through the city
when Seoul was first designated the capital of the Joseon Dynasty more than 600 years ago. It is the brainchild
of the CheongGyeCheon Stream Restoration Project and the Seoul City Government and represents the capital’s growing
respect for the environment. The Festival takes place from 30 September - 3 October to celebrate the resuscitation
of the natural waterway that was until recently on its deathbed after it was covered in the 1960`s with a concrete
expressway and so severely polluted by the 1980`s it posed a threat to public safety. The festival, which will consist
of performances and concerts, signals Seoul’s commitment to living more harmoniously with nature and preserving the
city for future generations.

there are twice as many vocal supporters and spectators who keep the hardy souls going with their cries of encouragement.
